There's no Disneyland in Africa, but if comments from Zimbabwe's tourism and hospitality minister are any indication, a big-time theme park along those lines may be in the works for an area near the iconic Victoria Falls.

Nissan Says it will have self-driving cars ready for 2020

Motorists could go hands-free, leaving their cars' computer brains fully in charge, as early as 2020, when Nissan says it plans to have a self-driving vehicle ready for the market.

The Japanese automaker said Tuesday that its "revolutionary" self-drive technology could be ready by then, and that it is already building a synthetic cityscape of real roads and buildings for testing the vehicles.

Dividends refer to the portion of profit stakeholders (shareholders) get from an enterprise for their stakes (shares) in the business. With continuous evolution, everything, including state – the nation state has acquired the status of enterprise.

So, such things as dividends of democracy have become commonplace. What do people particularly ordinary citizens get for their stakes in the state? That is their dividend from the state enterprise because they hold shares in the state. It is an inalienable right. And where it is not given or partially given or in any way denied, the people put their feet down in demand for what they know is their right.

Crude Oil Production To Rise After Repairs Of Pipelines – NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has promised that the average daily production of crude oil will rise to about 2.5 million barrels per day (mbpd) in two weeks, following repairs on the Nembe Creek Trunk Line (NCTL).

Independent sources in the oil industry, however said the country was only producing 1.9mbpd, based on accruable revenue, and when an extra 140,000bpd is added from the NCTL, total output would stand at 2.04mbpd.

Multilateral financial institution, Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), has provided a $170 million debt financing facility, under the scheme of arrangement that has Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTBank) underwriting the loan, for the acquisition of Jebba Power Station and Kainji Power Station, by Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited (MESL).

On Friday, GTBank and MESL sealed about N27 billion medium term syndicated acquisition facility, for the purpose of part-financing the concession of the power stations, owned by Kainji Hydro Electric Plc.

Microsoft cuts price of High end Surface tablet



Microsoft knocked off $100 from its top-of-the-line tablet, the Surface Pro, this weekend. The hybrid tablet/PC, which is competing against Apple's iPad and devices that use Google's Android system, now starts at $899 for the model with 128 GB of storage.

The news comes a few weeks after Microsoft cut the price of its cheaper Surface RT tablet, which competes with the iPad, by 30 percent from $500 to $350.

FG concludes power privatisation as Preferred bidders emerge for Afam, Kaduna power firms



Winners yesterday emerged in the bidding conducted for Afam Power Plc and Kaduna Distribution Company by Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).

The development is however, yet to be confirmed by the National Council on Privatisation, NCP.
The duo are two of the 18 successor companies carved out of Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN.
