Celebrities gather for 'Close Up Loves Naija' Concerts

It was fun, cheers and laughter as Close Up toothpaste organized its Close Up Loves Naija concerts in Lagos, Port-Harcourt, and Abuja simultaneously during the weekend. The concerts featured top Nigerian artistes such as MI, DJ Jimmy Jatt, KCee, Skales, Emma Nyra, Dammy Krane as well as an array of Comedians and upcoming music artistes.

The events included games, dance competitions, comedy, face painting for kids, musical performances, raffle draws, amongst others. Through raffle tickets collected at the venues, different giveaways such as cash prizes, cinema tickets and a grand prize of Samsung Galaxy S4 were given away at the venues.

Anil Gopalan, Vice President Operations, Unilever Nigeria Plc., while speaking at the event in Lagos, described the concert as an initiative designed to reward Nigerians for their patronage over the years. In his speech, he noted that for almost forty years that Close Up has been in the Nigerian market, Nigerians have embraced the product and its variants which give them stronger, whiter teeth and fresher breathe.

“We are proud of Nigeria and its people. We have promised to not just improve lives by providing quality products, but also impact lives by rewarding Nigerians. This goes to show that we do not just proclaim that Close Up Loves Naija with our words, we put in a lot of efforts to show our love with our actions,” he said.

In similar vein, Category Manager, Oral Care Unilever Nigeria Plc., Oiza Gyang said the Close Up Loves Naija Concert was organised to celebrate the spirit of patriotism and unity among Nigerians. She said, “Nigerians are known to be the happiest people in the world. Close Up celebrates the warmth of Nigerians and will continue to put smiles on the faces of the people.”

Speaking at the concert in Abuja, Dexter Adeola, Brand Manager, Close Up, stated that the brand was introduced into the Nigerian market as the first red gel toothpaste, and Nigerians quickly embraced it.

“Now, Close Up dominates the Nigerian tooth paste market. We love people of this country and we are happy to give back to them,” he said.

One of the winners of the raffle draw in Abuja who walked away with a Samsung Galaxy S4, Adebola Adenuga, expressed joy and satisfaction about his winning and the concert. “I am so happy that I came here today. I enjoyed the show so much as I got the opportunity to see KCee and other top Nigerian musicians I always see on TV. I also won this beautiful gift. This is one of the best gifts I have received in my life. I thank Close Up for this. I cannot say ‘thank you’ enough,” Adenuga opined.

It will be noted that Close Up recently launched a series of promos and initiatives where Nigerians got 50% more for every tube or satchet of Close Up that they purchased. Also, traders across the country were rewarded with brand new cars and other great prizes. In line with Nigeria’s 53rd Independence celebration, Close Up also launched the ‘3 Maps, 3x Fresher Breathe’  promo where N1Million will be given away to lucky customers who match correctly the different parts of the Nigerian map on the new Close Up patriotic pack, between now and the end of the year.

The Close Up range of toothpaste comes in both red gel and green gel and cuts across different variants such as Red Hot, Deep Action, Fire-Freeze, Close up Menthol Chill, and Herbal, giving long lasting fresh breath.
