In keeping with its resolve to empower Nigerian youths, the fastest growing and most innovative network in Nigeria, Etisalat Nigeria, has trilled students at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko in Anambra State to a two-day festival of education, entertainment and fun during the telco’s campus youth empowerment programme, Cliqfest.

Cliqfest provided the Polytechnic community an  opportunity to encounter renowned motivational speaker Niyi Adesanya, who delivered a seminar titled ‘New Thinking New Possibilities’. Other  activities included novelty matches amongst the students in light of the Etisalat-FC Barcelona partnership, and a concert featuring performances by Mr. Raw, Terry G as well as upcoming Nigerian artistes from the Nigerian Idol Season 3, Moses Obi-Adigwe and Safeeyah.

Manager, Youth Segments, Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Idiare Atimomo, explaining the rationale behind Cliqfest,  said, ”Etisalat is determined to change the future of the Nigerian youth by bringing the best motivational speakers to educate and give a new mindset to students. We are here at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko to bring out the best out of every individual, while ensuring they use their various talents to its maximum potential.”

In his welcome speech, Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Professor Godwin Onu expressed delight with the idea of Cliqfest because he witnessed the instant turnaround in the students at the seminar and foresaw new Nigerian students emerging from the Etisalat seminar where positive seeds were sowed in their hearts.

According to Professor Onu, “ Cliqfest has gone a long way in inspiring and motivating our students and repositioned them for a better future. This initiative ties in with the Polytechnic’s institutional goals and objectives of empowering students through knowledge and inspiration, plus inculcating in them a positive mindset to succeed in life. We thank Etisalat Nigeria for taking this bold step to teach the students what it takes to be successful”.
